We are a salon located in the heart of Woodbury catering to the Woodbury Community and surrounding suburbs. We are the young, modern, hip salon who brings the modern trends to Woodbury!
We specialize in trendy colors, balayage, foilayage, vibrant vivids, highlights, ombre melts, and modern gray coverage. We also specialize in blonding, Asian blonding, and blonding of naturally dark hair. We also offer luxury services like sewed-in Hair Extension (using human hair), Brazilian Blowout (hair straightening service), B3 Deep Conditioning Treatments, Olaplex treatments for damaged hair, and bio bond builder to protect the hair from damage during color services. We use special techniques and product that not only will give you the desired look that you want, but also maintaining the health and the integrity of the hair by using modern blonding techniques.
Besides hair services, our salon also offers skin care services, waxing services, and lash extension services. We use Aveda Skin Care Line.

We have different tiers of stylists from Apprenticeship Stylists to Master Stylists. With different tiers of stylists, we can accommodate and work with your budget. We offer haircuts for people of all ages, waxing services, specialty perms. We have a bridal team of stylists to accommodate large wedding parties with bridal hair and make-up.

Meet the Owner
Quynh McDermott
Quynh specializes in blonding and blonding of all types of hair, modern blonding, modern techniques, Asian blonding, color, vivid colors, sewed-in hair extensions, and keratin hair treatments . Quynh prides herself in modern looks and modern hair trends so she continues to take continue education classes to educate herself on modern hair trends, colors, and specialty techniques like foilayage, balayage, ombre melts, and so much more.

Quynh attended Aveda Institute right out of high school from 2000-2001. After graduation, she landed a job at The Elizabeth Arden Full-Service Salon located inside of Marshall Fields at Rosedale Mall. When Marshall Field’s turned into Macy’s, she worked at Premier Salon, located inside of Macy’s and worked at both the Rosedale and downtown Minneapolis locations.
Quynh eventually wanted more experience outside of the department store clientele, so she accepted a job at a salon downtown Minneapolis catering to a more modern, young, and hip clientele, cutting hair for clients like Brad Wooden, who is a channel 9 newscast member at the time, 2004-2005.
Quynh has always dreamt of opening her own beauty salon and is passionate about the beauty industry. She is ambitious and driven and looks forward to putting all of her hard work and energy into her own business! Quynh takes continue education classes to further her knowledge and skills to stay up to date with the new and modern trends in the beauty industry!
Quynh has a background in Business Administration, Beauty, Dentistry, and Real Estate. She worked in the dental field as a Dental Assistant, Insurance Coordinator, Treatment Coordinator, Scheduling Coordinator, Office Administrator, and Office Manager for 14 years. She worked side-by-side with a Dental Consultant learning about marketing, client retention, team building, and effectiveness in running a business. All these skills have helped Quynh start and manage her own salon business.
Our Story
Our Story
Our salon started in St. Paul in th​e University-Summit area in September of 2019. We had four stations and one shampoo bowl. After making it through the pandemic and the looting and riots that happened in St. Paul , in July of 2020, not only did we make it through that, we rented a space across the hall and launched our lash lounge called The Beauty Lounge.

By 2021, the owner of our salon, Quynh, decided to live out her dream and begin searching for a salon in Woodbury (where she is a resident of since 2011) and found a space in the Woodbury Village Shopping Center. She rebranded the salon to Signature Salon of Woodbury and launched her new Aveda Exclusive Salon in August 1st, 2022. Quynh officially closed her St. Paul location and is so excited to focus all of her time, energy, and hard work into her Woodbury location.

Hi! My name is Quynh and I am the Owner of Signature Salon of Woodbury. I have always dreamt of opening my own salon for as far back as I can remember. I believe that beauty is unique in each and everyone of us and with the right stylist, we can help you bring out the beauty from within you. Hair has always been important to me. I believe that if your hair looks good, it doesn't matter what you wear or how you look, you will always look well put together. And how you look on the outside can really affect how you feel about yourself on the inside. Beauty has become more than just an exterior thing, I truly believe that it is crucial for your mental health and self-care for you to look good, to feel good. And to know that I can help my client feel confident and good about themselves really makes my career so enjoyable.

In my spare time I like to cook, clean, organize my living space, meditate, yoga, work out, and spend time with my two beautiful daughters, Ameilya (15) and Lilyanna (8). My kids are my world and I adore them both so much. I also love to travel, see the world, learn about other cultures and experience their food. I am a big foodie and would consider myself pretty well traveled for someone my age. I can't wait to show my daughters the world and travel more with them.
I am so excited to be in Woodbury and be a part of this community. I look forward to having you in my chair and I would love to hear your story!

Hi my name is Sarah, I grew up and went to school in Woodbury MN. I graduated from Minnesota school of cosmetology in 2019 and have been doing hair for 5 years. I’ve always had a passion and interest for the beauty industry. The love of hair and beauty grew as I went to the salon with my mom to get our hair done. I love to do color, haircuts, styling, and waxing. In my spare time I am either cozy reading a book, snuggling and playing with my cats , listening to music, or spending time with family and friends. I chose signature salon because it’s very close to home and I felt very welcomed when I came in. I am happy to be back in my home town and to be apart of the Signature Salon of Woodbury’s team and I look forward to having you in my chair!

Micheal
Salon Manager & Master Stylist
After completing his training at Aveda Institute in 1992, Micheal took a job at a salon in downtown Minneapolis where he started as an assistant and worked his way up to Creative Director. During his time at Avant Hair and Cosmetics, Micheal participated in the L’Oreal color council where you traveled across the United States, doing platform work, teaching other stylist about the latest in cutting haircut trends. Another part of his job at Avant Hair was consulting with several different modeling agencies, helping new talent carve their images for the industry. Feeling the need to expand his horizons, Micheal moved to San Francisco in 1998 where he was a freelance hairdresser and manager for Ralph Lauren.
In 2000, Michael accepted a career with Aveda, his responsibilities includes teaching, training sales in product education, starting his 10 year in San Francisco, then Chicago, completing his career with The Aveda Institute in Minneapolis.
After many years in reach out management, Micheal returned to the salon environment where he has worked and perfecting his precision Haircutting and meticulous color, and application techniques. Micheal chose Signature Salon of Woodbury because he aligned with Quynh’s philosophy and mission statement and want to be part of turning it from a mission to reality. In his spare time, Micheal likes to cook, tend to his bonsai garden, meditate, and do yoga.

Hello, my name is Lorielle. I’ve always loved art so much that I began designing hair on my dolls and family members at a very young age. Never leaving the canvas behind me. I’ve been in the Beauty Industry for 30 years and I have loved every moment of it. Specializing in various aspects and still learning how to explore and expand our experience here with this amazing community and beautiful artistic team at Signature Salon of Woodbury.

I had no idea I would become a Lash Tech because I always enjoyed doing wigs and coloring hair. But then I got my lashes done and I was obsessed! Hello, I am Jocelyn, a Nail Technician and a Natural NaiI Specialist. I started my career at Elizabeth Arden salon inside of Dayton's at Southdale Mall. I re,ener when I was 16, I worked behind the front desk and loved getting my nails done.

Eventually, I started doing my own nails, and found I was really good at it. My passion has only grown from it since: The feeling of a fresh mani and/or pedi was everything! I went for my nail tech license and achieved it in 2005.
Since then, I have worked in every aspect of the industry: salons, salons spa, spas, nails shops, private events, and finally my own nail suite.

I have been on my own for a little over three years, and I am loving the ability to focus on what is important to me: practicing healthier nail services while using earth-friendly products, as well as continuing to educate myself and my clients on healthy nail care. With over 28 years in the industry, 19 of them as a nail tech, I have learned so much about my industry. I am not sure how many people can say this, but I love what I do!

I am so excited to continue my journey at my new location in Signature Salon of Woodbury. Learning about Signature Salon and the Owner, Quynh, was kismet. Like me, the first salon she worked in was Elizabeth Arden as well. More importantly, her shop carried my all-time favorite nail polish, O.P.I. Private Jet. This is the place for me!

I love Aveda and have had the pleasure to work with them several times in my career. Both behind the front desk and on the floor. Aveda is Minnesota-based company and I am Minneapolis-born and raised. Now, I am a longtime Eastside resident of St Paul. The fact that Aveda gives back to the communities they are in, sources their ingredients locally and greenly; I am over-the-moon to incorporate their top-tier products into my services.
My life outside of nails is spent being a mother to four wonderful children, being a new grandma! I also bartend and serve at a wonderful sushi restaurant in St Paul. I love a good movie or tv show (my programs I call them) and enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes.
